TTM Squeeze Radar Guide

العربية

Learn how the radar identifies volatility compression and how to distinguish a squeeze from a possible release.

What the TTM Squeeze Radar does

A strong move can follow a period of quiet, narrow trading. This radar helps you find releases from volatility compression by comparing Bollinger Bands with Keltner Channels. Use its results to select charts for a direction and follow-through review, rather than searching every chart yourself.

Compression tells you about stored volatility, not direction.

Use the momentum reading, trend, price structure, and the first bars after release to evaluate direction. A squeeze can remain active longer than expected or release without follow-through.

Concept illustration of price compression followed by volatility expansion
The tight candle cluster represents compression and the arrows represent possible expansion in either direction, not a directional forecast.

Signal states and concepts

SQUEEZE ON

Compression before the published release

Bollinger Bands were inside the configured Keltner envelope before a release. This explains the setup behind a published fire signal; it is not necessarily a separate row on the page.

RELEASE

Compression has ended

The relationship has moved out of the squeeze condition. Inspect whether price actually expands and whether participation supports the move.

MOMENTUM

Momentum context

The histogram or momentum fields describe current directional pressure. They can change before, during, or after the release.

AGE

Signal age

Age separates a fresh transition from an older condition whose initial expansion may already have happened.

How to read the main fields

FieldWhat it describesWhat to verify
Squeeze stateThe published release or fire observation after prior compression.Open the chart and locate both the prior compressed range and the release bar.
MomentumThe sign and development of the configured momentum calculation.Look for direction and slope; one positive or negative bar is weak evidence.
TimeframeThe interval on which compression was measured.Compare only with trend and levels relevant to that interval.
Duration or dotsHow long the condition has remained active where provided.Long duration means prolonged compression, not a guaranteed larger move.
Signal timeThe bar that created the current state or transition.Check whether the release is fresh and whether price has already extended.

A disciplined review workflow

  1. Filter by the timeframe and recency that match your analysis horizon.
  2. Open the chart and mark the high and low of the visible compression area.
  3. Review trend, momentum development, volume, liquidity, and nearby price levels.
  4. If a release is shown, inspect the close and subsequent bars for continuation or immediate failure.
  5. Plan for both directions and define what would invalidate the expansion thesis.

What strengthens or weakens the observation

Useful supporting context

  • A clear contraction in range followed by a close outside an established structure level.
  • Momentum developing in the same direction as the price expansion.
  • Participation that is not dependent on one irregular print.
  • Room to the next independently identified support or resistance area.

Reasons to slow down

  • Price still moving inside a narrow, directionless range after the release label.
  • A move directly into nearby support or resistance.
  • Low liquidity, wide spreads, or an event-driven gap.
  • Assuming a long squeeze must create a proportionally large move.

Limitations and false signals

  • Band and channel parameters determine when the squeeze is considered active.
  • A release can reverse quickly or return to compression.
  • Different timeframes can show active and released states at the same time.
  • Momentum is calculated from historical data and can change as new candles arrive.
Risk reminder

The radar finds volatility conditions for chart review. It does not predict the direction or size of a move and should not be used as a standalone entry signal.

The release row and the earlier setup

SQUEEZE_FIRE identifies a published release. The earlier compression phase explains how the condition formed and need not appear as a separate result. Review price and momentum after release; the label is not an entry instruction.

Compression grades and momentum

High, Medium, and Low describe how tightly Bollinger Bands fitted within the configured Keltner channels during the squeeze. A tighter squeeze describes stronger compression, not a guaranteed larger release. Read the momentum direction and whether its bars are strengthening or weakening alongside price.

Page components explained

Narrow the signals

Filter by stock, period, price or the available signal criteria. Start broad and add conditions gradually. The timeframe belongs to the signal, while the date range controls when signals appeared.

Period, timeframe and direction

Use the period to choose recent or older signals, the timeframe to choose the candle scale, and direction to separate bullish and bearish readings. These settings answer different questions.

Read the signal list

Start with symbol, signal time and timeframe, then read direction and the radar-specific details. Open a signal to inspect it on the chart. Scores are ranking aids, not measured win probabilities.

Saved signals and watchlists

Favorites retain specific signals for review. A watchlist tracks stocks and can include many signals for each one. Check which control you are using before narrowing the list.

Supporting context

These switches keep signals with the selected news, block-volume, compliance or options context. Presence of extra information is not proof that the signal is stronger or that all sources agree.

Inspect a signal

Compare the signal marker with the price at that time and the moves that followed. Confirm the timeframe and timestamp. A historical chart shows what happened; it does not guarantee the next signal will behave the same way.

Automatic refresh

Refresh checks for new readings. It does not make an old source current. Check the reading's timestamp and any warning before using it.

Language

Use the flag to switch the interface language. Check the currency shown on subscription and payment pages after changing language; trading symbols keep their original spelling.

Light and dark mode

Choose the appearance that makes text and chart details comfortable to read. Changing the theme affects the display, not the underlying data or signals.

Page layout

Use this control to change the available page layout. It changes how much space the interface uses, not the meaning of the displayed values.

Fullscreen

In the signed-in app, expand the site to gain more room for charts and tables. Use the control again or Escape to leave browser fullscreen.
